Gallery...A walkthrough underwater history of the Adriatic – diving paradise of Mali Losinj
The course was organized from the Croatian Restoration Institute and it took place on the little island Mali Loshinj. In 10 days the team got trained in search for artifacts, photo documentation, drawing underwater and safe removal of the objects with balloons. On the end of the course the team got certificated as underwater archaeologists. After the course the team visited the museum for antic glass, in Zadar, the only virtual museum. Besides the 2000 pieces of glass from the antic here was represented Apoksiomen, the statue discovered near the coast of Mali Loshinj. This statue was part of a cargo of a roman ship. Archaeologist spent 10 years for safely removal of the statue from the sea, restoration, conservation till the final view for the public.
